Garden Goddess
I went out of my comfort zone and put together my very own photoshoot this year. I married into this flower family of mine….before I became a florist I was a fine artist. When you wanted to get your work out there you would hopefully get into a gallery. But flowers are different. I kept seeing all the florists I admire posting photos of shoots they have done and using them for advertising and I was envious. It seemed like this big mystery…did you have to spend your entire advertising budget? (Ha this is a farm there is no such thing!) Somehow Beatriz Valencia and I connected and we had the same idea of just going for things and figuring it out later . We ended up with an amazing group of badass women bosses . Our goal was to feature local artisans and locally grown goods. Every stem in this shoot was grown on our farm!
I love big bohemian garden inspired bouquets. They always reflect the season perfectly as you gather from the gardens.
Beautiful hand painted veil by Aeva Made
Monirose created us the most beautiful and ethereal bespoke gown
Custom made Jelwerly from Hess and Co
Wilson Creek Pottery handmade these killer place settings.
Enos Farms whipped up these beautiful cakes… Erin and Jeremy are serious about local ingredients and Cater weddings using the best of the season.
I had so much fun just creating the things I love with the colors around me that week. I mean look at these Lisianthus! They have a superior vase life and come in all the most beautiful soft colors.
What I have learned from this very first photo shoot of mine:
I love styling all the elements.
Whenever a bunch of creatives get together its fun and magic is possible.
Beatriz Valencia is a firecracker and so much fun to work with and we are going to do this again!
I would do photoshoots every week if I could!
