Q & A
Q: How do I reserve my date?
A: We do not hold your date without a 30% deposit. We will first set up a time to chat or meet to develop a quote for your approval. Once you review the quote 30% of that total is due to reserve the date.
Q: How far in advance should I book?
A: I normally book weddings 6 months to a year in advance. Usually by June my season is fully booked, so if you know you want Sunborn Gardens to do your florals send us an email!
Q: Do you deliver and set up?
A: We sure do! For our full service weddings we offer delivery and set up. The fee is based on distance and time and man power involved.
Q: What if I don’t know anything about flowers, can I still meet to book you?
A: We get it, you probably didn’t have to think of flowers like this before. The good news is we specialize in seasonal flowers so nature will do most of this work for us. For example if your wedding is in June expect Peonies to be the main bloom, if its in September, there will be an abundance of Dahlias. Once we talk I will get a better idea of your style and will provide flowers suggestions of the things we grow that will suit your vision.
Q: I love flowers, can I choose each and every type of bloom that goes into my wedding.
A: If this is your desire we are not a good fit for you. Your wedding is important and there are many amazing florists out there that can help with this! We focus on seasonal blooms which means we will use what is in season first and then if needed, bring in other details to fit your vision. We know the main blooms available for your date, but the rest of what we grow varies week to week and is dependent on nature. Of course, if you are open to seasonal blooms, but also would like to include lets say, Garden Roses because they are your favorite, we are happy to accommodate such requests. These requests may increase the cost per item depending on the blooms needed.
Q: Can I combine your design services with buckets of blooms for DIY?
A: Yes! We would love to take care of any elements you do not feel comfortable creating yourselves. You can combine our a la carte service with DIY buckets. Please note: Buckets of flowers can be picked up a day or two in advance, but designed elements have to be picked up the day of the event. This allows your flowers to remain in our cooler for best quality.
Q: Can I book you from out of state?
A: Absolutely! We do this quite often. A phone call can gather a lot of information in a short time. Along with any images you send me, I develop a mood board for you to make sure we are on the same page and figure out details via email. We can always meet when your in town for any reason.
Q: Can I pre order market bouquets for my wedding?
A: No. our market bouquets are first come first serve at the market only. We have to make sure to have a consistent presence for our market customers. We offer buckets of flowers for any DIY needs. They can also be picked up at market.
Q: Can you bring my bouquets early to where Im getting ready for first look photos?
A: Yes. Please keep in mind long hours in hot sun will be damaging to your flowers. If your first look is many hours before your ceremony you may want to keep your vase nearby for a drink every now and then or order a second set of bouquets. Rule of thumb is no more than two hours out of water with bouquets.
Q: Can you grow specific varieties for our wedding?
A: yes and no. We would love to give it a try, however nature is our boss. Things can often bloom a few days or weeks after you expect so the timing is not guaranteed. If you book early enough we normally make sure to plant many varieties in your color palette.
